Test yourself

“Train in times of peace to be prepared for times of war.”

For me, challenging myself is part of who I am. To reset my mental state, to remind myself what can be endured, what tests can be overcome, to develop my mental toughness.

Here you will find details of past charity and personal challenges completed and details of upcoming ones

Weymouth 70.3

2020 should have seen the completion of IronManUK but saw it postponed due to the Corona-virus pandemic. As it stands Weymouth will be going ahead in September where I will complete my first half IronMan as I build for MdS and then next years IMUK

Marathon Des Sables

Marathon des Sables, or MdS, is a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons but with the added challenge of being across the Sahara Desert. It has been regarded as the toughest foot race on Earth and I will be attempting to complete it in 2021 to raise funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers

24 Hour Ski-Erg WR

With the “For Oscar” foundation needing additional funds for life saving treatment myself and Sarah decided to attempt the 24 hour ski erg world record to raise an additional £5,000. We hit the target both financially with the fundraising but also both achieved World Records in total distance covered.

4.4.48

4.4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours to raise money for Brain Tumour Research. Over the course of 2 days the equivalent distance of two marathons were run and as a group of runners we raised over £20,000. This led to the next question - if I can complete a ultra distance over 2 days, could I do it without the breaks in between.

2,000 Burpees

With the Army vs Navy rugby match cancelled due to the Corona-virus the women’s team decided to do 2,000 burpees per team member to raise money for the NHS. As starting hooker, Sarah was taking part so of course I somehow ended up doing it with her too. Never again.
